Not every requirement fits a standard format. This guide covers how a custom coconut coir request is handled, what we need from you to answer it honestly, and what cannot be answered until a sample exists.

How a request is handled
- Brief
- You describe what you need, what it is for, and roughly what volume you are planning.
- Feasibility
- We tell you what is possible with the material and the process, and what is not. A clear no at this stage is cheaper for both of us than a slow maybe.
- Sample
- Where the request is feasible, a sample is prepared so you can evaluate the real thing rather than a description.
- Specification
- The approved sample becomes the written reference for production.
- Production
- The order runs against that reference.
What we need from you
- What the product has to do, not only what it should look like.
- The market it is going into, because destination requirements can rule out a material choice.
- Volume, at least as an order of magnitude, because it changes what is worth setting up.
- Any deadline you are working to, stated early.
- Whether your own artwork or intellectual property is involved, and confirmation that it is yours to use.
What cannot be answered up front
Price, lead time, minimum quantity and achievable tolerances all depend on what the request turns out to involve. Anyone who answers those before seeing the brief is quoting a different product.
